This guy is 5! We had birthday ice cream (baking cakes is not my specialty) and stuck a few candles in it.
This is his new blazer and tie. He’s been asking to wear a tie for months. I’ve been told when Shawn was his age (and I’ve seen pictures) that he wore a blue blazer and bow tie to school everyday. Like father, like son?
We started our Christmas morning with a nice breakfast of French toast and blueberry syrup, then finished reading our advent devotional book together. Here’s a picture of the tree before the gift opening begins!
A football jersey and painting book!
A “big girl” scarf like Mommy wears (and all of the other women on Shawn’s side…getting her started early!)
Eating a Christmas snack!
Checking out the new drawing book with daddy!
Our beautiful pink fairy…who has been leaving little pink fairy glitter all over the house!
A hand embroidered house scene for daddy!
Some lemon-cranberry pound cake to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Giggling over Calvin & Hobbes…
And chatting with our far-away family in the afternoon. We are so thankful for technology on days like this!
We wish all of our friends and family a Merry Christmas and God’s grace in the new year!
