A few months ago, we visited a small juice/smoothie bar in San Diego and enjoyed a “Berry Bowl” for breakfast. We came home and I attempted to reproduce it because it was so delicious. I make these about once a week and usually receive cheers and applause when I announce the breakfast menu.
The original had acaí berries as the smoothie base. I have used our normal smoothie mixture (banana, mixed berries, a handful of spinach, ground flaxseed), keeping it as thick as possible so that it can be eaten with a spoon.
We top it with hemp granola (though I’m sure oat-based granola would work as well), a sprinkle of coconut, and some cut fresh fruit. That’s it! Easy, healthy breakfast that will make everyone smile!
