Last Minute Projects

In preparation for our move (and no sewing machine for about a month!), I finished several projects and gifts that were on my to-do list.

My sister is expecting a baby in a few weeks and hopes to use cloth diapers as often as possible. I was able to make about 8 “one-size” diaper covers for her which should give her a good base as she builds up her supply. Sewing diaper covers has a definite learning curve, but I really enjoy making them as practical gifts for new moms.

I also made several small zippered pouches to give as gifts to friends. I used this tutorial as a guide and modified them to be slightly larger. Each bag has a printed inside which matches the stripe fabric.

The last two projects were summer clothes for myself. I realized that after 3 years in the Northwest, I didn’t have many clothes suitable for Southern weather. I will definitely be making more of the tank tops in lightweight summer fabric (as soon as I unpack my sewing machine)!

We are hoping to post some travel updates from the road as we make our way across the country…

SO excited you came by and said hello on my blog so I could find you here! I was just thinking today–“how am I going to find her blog?” I just loved that we had a chance to meet, and I look forward to following you here on your blog. Blessings, Trina
